Gong Xi Fatt Cai **Everyone

It's the Lunar New Year, the start of the Chinese New Year and it is the year of the Pig this year. We got Bibou all dressed up in these litte chinese outfits. She looks just soooo cute. She even let me do up her hair. Though we just found out that Bibou has found out how to undo her pigtails! That's no fun (for me... lots of fun for her!).

On Sunday, which was the first day of Chinese New Year, we hosted an event at home and had a big turn out. There were about 8-9 kids and their parents. I baked all weekend.... made about 150 pineapple tarts, a banana bread, 2 durian cakes, couple dozen sugi cookies. I was tired to say the least. But they all turned out yummy and that was the most satisfying part. Bibou loves the pineapple tarts and banana bread. She generally likes the desserts that I make... now the food that I make.. she's really fussy. She's getting to be really fussy with a lot of things, but mostly with what she eats. She still loves her rice and pasta.. and especially in soup. So I've found a way to 'hide' the vegetables. I grate the vegetables up really fine and mix them all up in the pasta. Some times she doesn't notice them.

I love this first picture of Bibou and Daddy. What cracked Daddy up so much was I had asked Bibou to 'smile' for the camera and she'd given this really funny crooked smile that got me and Daddy in stiches.

We're settling a little bit better now with routines, especially in the evenings. She's really helpful when we come home, always still searching for everyone's slippers, insisting on turning on all the lights etc. She's very curious right now, always asking 'c'est quoi?' (or what's that?). And she'll repeat whatever you say and try to remember it. Yes Bibou's tendency right now is veering towards French, though her vocabulary is predominantly English. So she'll go something like 'oh c'est BUS!' (it's a bus) or 'regarde car' (look (at) car). She's really really chatty and can talk a mile a minute and loves to tell you what happened during the day.. though it does take a while to understand her. You need to catch the key words. She's singing through complete songs right now too.

Bibou's playing really well with kids right now... well, not all kids, she does have her preference and if she doesn't like a kid, watch ou! She's won't share anything and can be quite aggressive about them playing with her toys. But if she likes you, she'll go all out with him/her. She'll bring out her favorite toy for them to play with, give lots of kisses and hugs. She still is a bit pushy though. This last pix of her in bed with Max and Louis in the playroom, watching a DVD while we parents were enjoying our dinner upstairs and a movie too. Great 'babysitter' that room :).

It's a(nother) Girl!

We just came back from our 2nd scan and our new little one is doing perfectly well! Yes, and Bibou is going to have a little sister come May/June.

We're very pleased that our little one is doing very well. Everything is 'normal'. And like her big sister, little one is very 'tall' but has a small head! Her head size is in the 5% percentile, while the length of her leg is in the 95% percentile! Her weight's in the 50% percetile. Here's a picture of her scan. It's her profile with her hand to her side.

During the scan, she had her hands on or close to her head, prompting the technican to say that we've got a 'thinker' in the family lol!
