Long due update!

It's been a long time since my last update (well, the last one on our scan doesn't count as there wasn't much on Bibou). So here's my guilt update! It has been difficult in the evenings as Daddy is working now and he has long hours. Most of the evenings, I have to rush home to get Bibou, get her dinner ready and our dinner ready too. Tonight, the traffice wasn't too bad, so we got home at a decent hour. Out came the camera and I snapped away!

It's been a month since the last update I think and boy has Bibou changed in that time! She's so much more chatty and responsive. Her vocabulary has increased tremendously both in English and French. She can also tell us what she wants more or less, like 'encore water' or encore chocolate (her favoriate of course :)). She can count up to 10 in both English and French and tell you what animal sounds a lot of the animals make (like dog - bow wow, cow - moo etc). She can switch between English and French, like when she says Merci with her nanny and thank you with us. Her favoriate singing includes a number of her fav songs too! She's a regular parrot too! Picks up words soooo quickly. Our recent newest addition that made Daddy and I just crack up was 'come on'! Especially in the morning when we're chasing her to hurry up to get ready for 'school' / 'work' for us. (oh and hurry hurry too).

She's very independant and strong willed. If she has set her mind on something, it's difficult to try and persuade her otherwise. Our persuasion skills are put to the test! It's a bit of a bartering trade sometimes. We choose our battles of course. Much easier. She is however, really sweet at most times, very thoughtful, generous and caring. She loves to give big hugs (and say BIG HUGGGG) and lots of kisses. Waking up with her is just great as she gives hugs and kisses to wake you up.

She plays very very nicely with Margo, her new companion at tatas. They play very well together, and she no longer has a 'sharing' problem with Margo. (she does still have a bad sharing problem with other kids though). The other week when tata had the week, she went to another tata who looked after baby twins. She was very very helpful and sweet with them. She was always kissing them and stroking their faces. She would go and help get their bottles, picked up stuff that the babies drop, rock them if they cry, get their pacifer etc. The tatas said that she was a biiiiig help.

She's a big girl now. She can take off her coat and scarf and hang it up all by herself. She takes off her shoes when she gets hone. It's a real joy to be wth her. of course I shan't go into details abt her tantrums!!. Please enjoy these latest updates of photos! Until the next time, which shouldn't be long, seeing that Christmas is round the corner!

Bibou's going to be a big sister!

As many of you would know already, yes, Bibou is going to have a little baby brother or sister due mid of June!! We're all so very excited. The little one is just coming up to 12 weeks, and we had our very first scan today. We're pleased to announce that everything is 'normal'. Little baby is doing just fine, has a strong heart beat and s/he moves around a lot.

We've told Bibou that there's a little baby in mummy's tummy. But we're not sure that the news has sank in yet. She's been playing very well with her playmate and the other day, when she went for a week to her substitute nanny who has twin babies, she was most helpful! She was really sweet with the babies, always wanting to hug and kiss the babies and gently caress them. When the babies cry, she would try and soothe them, or go find their pacifier / dummies. When it's meal time, she'd go get their bottles for them.

Well, we will see how she'd react to her own brother or sister! She still has difficulties sharing, so... we may have a long road ahead of us somehow!

Bibou's First TRICK or TREAT

One of our neighbours decided to organize a trick or treat party for all the kids in our neighbourhood. We got the invitation so Bibou got all dressed up in her supergirl outfit (we sure got a lot of use out of that outfit this year! I'm so pleased I bought it), and off we went. When we reached the end of the road, wow, there were a big bunch of kids all ready.

So we quickly joined them in walking up to the next house. However, perhaps it was really dark, Bibou got a little bit scared again. I can't say I blame her one bit, it was really dark already (even though it was just 6.00 pm) and some of the kids had really scary costumes on. However, once we got going, and Bibou realized that there were CANDY to be given away, she got right in.

Trick or treat doesn't really translate into French and the kids just yelled out 'les bon bon' or "Candies Candies". Needless to say, by the end of the evening, Bibou could and was screaming out 'Bon bon" with everyone. She got in there with everyone, even though she was the youngest and definately the smallest, scrambling for candy and chocolate. It was a fun night, and Bibou got a fairly decent bag of candy. She totally enjoyed her first trick or treat!

Bibou's first Holloween Party

A fellow MESSAGE member hosted a great holloween party at her place on Saturday and we were invited! (with a gentle reminder to Daddy to bring his guitar lol!).

We dressed Bibou up in her supergirl outfit and off we went, all excited and with lots of chocolate and candy in our bags to distribute. What a lovely surprise when we got there... there were tons of kids all dressed up in wonderful costumes. However, the kids were sooo friendly and welcoming that they rushed to Bibou in their realistic costumes and make-up that they scared her at first :(. There was a very scary pirate and skelton, in fact, a couple of pirates and some princesses. Eventually, Bibou warmed up and we made it through the front door.

There were lots of games organized, the first was pumpkin painting and Bibou got right into that. She enjoyed that alot. Then came the cupcake decorating. She liked that too, but didn't enjoy eating it for some reason! Daddy brought out the guitar next and boy did we have a great crowd this time. And Bibou led everyone with all the gestures. The boys were really enjoying themselves following Daddy in the songs. Unfortunately, Bibou got too excited and slid off the couch and had a big bonk on her head. She was ok though and was back in form in no time... and just in time for creating paper pumpkins. And with Daddy's help, Bibou created a gorgeous pumpkin. Wow!

All too soon, the afternoon ended and we had to leave. Bibou sure had a fun time!
