Bibou's first day at "School"

Well, it had to happen! My girl's off to school. What a big girl she is. Ok, well, not really school. But it is her first full day at the creche. And she does it all alone.
In preparing the kids for their first year at 'real' school, Bibou's creche has the kids that are two years old this year, to attend a 'full day' at the creche, having their lunch and siesta at the creche too. They do this once a month until they are 3 years old in September next year.
So this morning, we got Bibou all dressed up and her hair all tied up. We put her new exercise book that I made for her, into her big school bag that mah mah and Kong kong got for her last year. She gamely put everything on her back, allowed us to take some photos and then off she went, on Daddy's bike. Apparently she had a good time today too, although she missed her ta-ta who left after half a day and cried a little. She was consolable though.

My Bibou and Me

There has been soooooo few pictures of Bibou and me that I really really like. I guess I'm just too critical when it comes to pix of meself I guess. But these pictures really... sigh.. I really really like them. Especially this first one. It shows the sweet, thoughtful side of my little Bibou. What a great eye Daddy has eh?
This other one shows our usual little imp, so full of mishief and laughter. These pictures were taken at the Ferme de Gally or Gally farm where we spent a nice afternoon with Mah Mah and Kong Kong picking fresh fruits and vegetables... but more on that later. Now, it's time for me to go catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Little Chinese Gal!

Ok, these pictures just had me in stiches! They were just soooo funny. Even more funnier when we were here 'live' with the show. We were having congee (rice porridge), and of course, all of us were using chopsticks while Bibou had her spoon.

Well, Missy decided that she shouldn't be any different from everyone else. If everyone can use chopsticks, well, by golly, so can she. She grabbed my chopsticks, and without even being taught how to use it, she managed to hold it fairly well, and even more amazing, she could eat with them. She managed to pick up some congee and put into her mouth and eat. And she was really tickled that she got it right too. It was amazing! She doesn't have the perfect grip, but it is a good start!

Michelle's Visit with Bibou

Our really good friend, Michelle (and her new beau, Luke) came to visit, on their down (and up) from their 2 week South of France visit. We were really pleased to see her and I was certainly delighted that i was able to catch up with her. It HAS been a while!

There were certain things that Mich really wanted to do (or rather ... eat :)) while she was in Paris. Making sure that I made Laksa and Banana bread was one, but also visiting Chez Clement (which we did on our 3rd Wedding anniversary - it was great being able to celebrate it with them), and of course, Mirama!
So off to Mirama on a lovely sunny day we went. We had delicious yummy shrimp dumpling noodle soup, roasted pork and duck, etc etc etc... all the yummy mouth watering best in the world cantonese food. Makes me drool writing and thinking about it now!
After lunch, we popped into near-by Notre Dame seeing Mich and Luke haven't been in there. It was tough trying to keep Bibou quiet in that church and got out of there fairly quickly!
Next up, we went to the Gally Farm to visit the animals. We did the whole same routine, went to visit the donkey, whom Bibou seemed to remember and had no qualms petting and feeding with hay (stolen from the little lambs' stall!).
We then went on to the big goat's field that you could enter and play with many little baby goats and pregnant goats. At first, Bibou was totally excited about going to the pen and petting the little ones. She even tried to pull up the (almost all eaten away) grass to feed the little ones. I went outside the pen to grab tons of grass that was available around, so I went to grab a whole bunch of them. Unfortuantely, this meant that when I went into the pen, the big mama goats came rushing up to me. In their rush to get to the grass, one big mama bumped and pused little Bibou. I guess for her tiny size, it would have seemed like the equivalent of a huge bull with horns pushing against you. She got really scared and didn't want to go near them or pet them (even now, apparently she refuses to go near any animals to feed them, something she normally loves). That's such a pity.
Luke and Mich had more energy than us, so they sent a little while running and chasing after Bibou, something she really enjoyed!
We hope to see them real soon!

Bibou loves Babies.

What do ya know? I just found a little bit more time to update the blog again, with more pictures :). Ok this time, here are some pictures of Bibou and guests that we've had the pleasure of entertaining recently chez ours. Bibou's still showing her great love for babies. She just gravitates towards them everytime a little one is present. AND she's really gentle with them. Always wanting to caress them and give them lots of kisses. It just amazes us, especially since she isn't all that nice with 'other kids' that are not babies. Unfortunately, she doesn't share and can be quite aggressive / protective over her toys and things that she deems to be hers, for example being at the playground, and if another kid was
on the slide with her / next to her, she gets upset. We're trying hard to teach / show her that she needs to learn to share with everyone. That's my greatest fear, that she's gonna be the playground bully! Though someone said that it beats her being the one that is bullied. I guess that's true, but I still rather that she be able to just stand her
ground but yet not be the aggressor. Anyway, her ta-ta is also trying to show her that she has to learn to share (she's
also got a new playmate since her 'boyfriend' Dan has left - it hasn't been an easy first few days!).
I really really hope that she 'quiets' down and learns that we all love her equally, even if there is someone new around. Oh here's a pix of Daddy wearing the flowers that Bibou picked for him. Isn't that just sweeet?

Me, Me and ME!

Actually, just Bibou Bibou and more pix of Bibou.

Here's a quick update with some cute pictures of Bibou. I like this pic totally and it makes her look like she's so demure. Something she surely ain't! Ah she's one wild, tomboy little child. Give he a choice between a doll and climbing, she'll be off running and climbing and sliding.
We had a few rather warm days so we took advantage of it and splashed around in the pool. The picture on the left shows her 'quacking' like a duck, as she sings a song from her current favorite show : The Wiggles.
Here's some more cute picture of her at a friend's place. The skirt's just a little bit too short, but hey, at that age, you can get away with anything! And it is a really nice party dress, so she got to put it on one last time.

Hitching a ride

Okok, I'm soooo terribly sorry! Can everyone say 'work'? It's been crazy at work! I've also been really tired, probably because of all that work. So been trying to catch up on zzzzs when I can, but also trying to spend as much time as possible with Bibou when I'm home and she's awake!
Anyway, so I'll be trying to update the site as often as I can, probably with lots of pictures!
Here's a series of pictures that we took a few weeks ago, when Daddy decided it'll be quicker and less tiring to give Bibou a ride to ta-ta's place instead of pushing her in the stroller. So off he went and got Bibou her own seat with Noddy helmet). She looked soooooooooo cute!

She was a little bit apprehensive at first, but then I had a 'bright idea', and said 'Go really fast Daddy'. Well, that did the trick didn't it, as our little dare devil LOVED the fast pace and wind in her face. She was squealing with laughter and then asking for 'encore, encore, ENCORE" (more or again again!).
She's really used to the bike now and enjoys being on it, and is quicker for Daddy to transport her to and fro (when I can't pick her up). Sometimes though, she doesn't like wearing her helmet! That's when Daddy has to wear his helmet to show her that its' cool, everyone wears a helmet. Actually, I'm glad she kicks off a fuss sometimes, or maybe she's smarter than Daddy is, she's just trying to get HIM to wear his helmet, something that I haven't been able to do, despite reminding him how dangerous he is. He just doesn't care!
After that, we went round the corner and wow, we found our neighbours having a ball playing ball on the street. But as we got there, the ball got stuck high up in the tree, so Daddy played fireman and rescued the ball lol. What a comedy. It was a really rowdy game, so Bibou couldn't play, but not for the lack of trying. She was really excited and wanted to jump in sometimes, but she knew it was dangerous so she stayed quite far away, but shouting instructions to Daddy. She also 'asked' for the ball sometimes! That fun evening sure came to an end too quickly!
Ok, I've gotta go, but stay tuned. I'll try and update as quickly as possible and thanks to all who sent a note to find out if everything's ok!
