Our really good friend, Michelle (and her new beau, Luke) came to visit, on their down (and up) from their 2 week South of France visit. We were really pleased to see her and I was certainly delighted that i was able to catch up with her. It HAS been a while!
There were certain things that Mich really wanted to do (or rather ... eat :)) while she was in Paris. Making sure that I made Laksa and Banana bread was one, but also visiting Chez Clement (which we did on our 3rd Wedding anniversary - it was great being able to celebrate it with them), and of course, Mirama!
So off to Mirama on a lovely sunny day we went. We had delicious yummy shrimp dumpling noodle soup, roasted pork and duck, etc etc etc... all the yummy mouth watering best in the world cantonese food. Makes me drool writing and thinking about it now!
After lunch, we popped into near-by Notre Dame seeing Mich and Luke haven't been in there. It was tough trying to keep Bibou quiet in that church and got out of there fairly quickly!
Next up, we went to the Gally Farm to visit the animals. We did the whole same routine, went to visit the donkey, whom Bibou seemed to remember and had no qualms petting and feeding with hay (stolen from the little lambs' stall!).
We then went on to the big goat's field that you could enter and play with many little baby goats and pregnant goats. At first, Bibou was totally excited about going to the pen and petting the little ones. She even tried to pull up the (almost all eaten away) grass to feed the little ones. I went outside the pen to grab tons of grass that was available around, so I went to grab a whole bunch of them. Unfortuantely, this meant that when I went into the pen, the big mama goats came rushing up to me. In their rush to get to the grass, one big mama bumped and pused little Bibou. I guess for her tiny size, it would have seemed like the equivalent of a huge bull with horns pushing against you. She got really scared and didn't want to go near them or pet them (even now, apparently she refuses to go near any animals to feed them, something she normally loves). That's such a pity.
Luke and Mich had more energy than us, so they sent a little while running and chasing after Bibou, something she really enjoyed!
We hope to see them real soon!
