Mamita and Grumps are here!

Finally, Mamita and Grumps are here. They arrived safely on Monday, though they were a little late as they had a 'minor incident' when trying to leave Toronto... their Captain had 'disappeared' or something and they had to find another! Blimey! And they apparently had to spend some time on the runway waiting for the new captain to arrive before they could go. Anyway, everything went well eventually, they arrived just slightly later than expected, got caught up at immigration (typically, they only had 2 lanes opened for a large crowd of travellers!), and waited for their baggages, and came out only about 1 1/2 hour later... and to their surprise, Daddy wasn't waiting for them??!! What had happened? Well, little missy Bibou decided that now was the time to be just like Mummy - she got car sicked! And threw up all over in the new car. Daddy had to stop the car, clean and calm her down, and because she'd threw up all over her clothes, stripped off all her clothes. Next, they had to go find some new clothes for Bibou... and finally managed to find a Carrefour. So there they went, into the store, and Daddy stopped to ask the sales lady where he could find some girl's clothes... fast! She gave him the directions, hesitated and then said, "not that it is any of my business, but don't you think your child should have some clothes on... she's only in diapers?' ...Errr yes Mam, that's why we'd asked you where to find children's clothes!! Well, in the end, they got some clothes and off they went to get Mamita and Grumps, and were just in time... they arrived about 5 minutes after Mamita and Grumps came out. The weather hasn't been really nice at all! Rainy, cold, damp and even thunderstorm! No sun at all! But we've enjoyed catching up with them, and playing indoors, doing shopping and eating well. I've been doing lots of cooking, all of our favorite recipes and baking. At the insisitent 'request' from Daddy, I even made a strawberry rhubbarb pie! It came out quite well. We've been visiting the market (in Antony) and enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables. Summer fruits are in abundance and they've been just yummy (abricots, mirabelles, etc!)

Oh and something we've been having 'fun' this week... POTTY TRAINING! arrrggh! So far, we've had a number of accidents, but Bibou is catching on quite quickly. She had a very sucessful whole afternoon the other day, without a single accident, and she went to the bathroom quite a number of times on her own... it was really funny, she'd be watching telly / coloring / cutting / playing, and suddenly, she'd run pitter patter really quickly to the toilet and very soon after, the tinkling, roll of toilet paper and then the flush, and a real proud grin on her face when she returns. Oh she's just like me...she can't have anyone 'watching' while she pees. Hopefully, we'll get it pat down by the end of the summer! This photo of her was caught by Daddy, who found her imitating him! (the reading part of course... not the 'imitating the lion' part - she was actually saying 'NO, (don't take my photo) to Daddy!) lol.

Finally, I think that our dear sweet little Angel has.... FOUND HER THUMB...sob sob. I was hoping that she wouldn't (Bibou didn't) but I guess it is better than the pacifer / dummy. But who knows. We'll deal with that later! And I just love this last photo of Angel... it's how she wakes up every morning now, with this great big grin on her face.
