Fun at the funfair

Well, the sun was shining again, so we thought we'd take advantage of it on Tuesday (good thing too, as it has started raining again today! What a bummer!), and took the girls to the fair - the Fete de Tuleries, right in center Paris. It's actually in the gardens of the Tuleries, just off the Lourve Musuem. The fair actually occurs every summer, in fact, we'd taken Bibou to the fair a year ago! She had lots of fun then, so we thought why not. So off we went, driving in our brand new car (we got a new car a few weeks ago - a Peugeot 307 SW. A lot more roomy than my previous car!) all excited... except 5 minutes into our trip, Bibou fall asleep! (well it was nap time, but she doesn't or rather WON"T go down for naps at home.) So when we got there, we decided to let her sleep or else she'd be a real GROUCH! I took Angel on a little trip to WH Smith to check out books! My favorite past time - going to bookstores.. well that AND kitchen stores. I wish I could buy up everything in those two stores. You'd think that I'd get lots of those as presents. Angel and I sourced out the different Winnie the Pooh books there are (the classic ones, which aren't many, rather than the 'Disney created ones) and yes, lots of cook book. Ahhhh. Anyway, I digress ... yes, so the time passed quickly enough and after an hour, I went back to the car to find both Daddy and Bibou still sleeping! But as I was about to go for another walk, Daddy woke up, and then Bibou did too. So off to the fair we went. It was hot, so we had Bibou wear her hat and also her sunglasses! She loves wearing them only because it makes her look like Daddy. I love the pictures of her sitting on Daddy, both of them wearing their sunglasses. Too cute.

First stop, ice cream! While we were sitting down and having ice cream, Bibou was all excitedly pointing to the Merry Go Round, and wanting us to hurry up and finish up our ice cream. When we were done, she all but pulled Daddy onto the ride. She chose her animal - horse and Daddy got beside her and off they went. She waved
at me everything she passed by, as you can see here in the first video below. After that ride, we went further down to explore. We soon came upon a very mild ride meant for children, and I remembered that Bibou had loved it the previous year. So we got her into it and paid for the ticket. Bibou even got onto the same car (hadn't realized it until I went back to the old pictures ... check it out http://biboupage.blogspot.com/2006/08/funfair-fun.html) BUT, to our surprise, she didn't like it at all and was crying throughout the ride. Oh dear! We were really surprised! I think it is because she's really clingy these days especially to Daddy (I figured it is probably because of the new arrival of her baby sister, whom she adores and has no problem with, but who has taken most of Mummy's attention away) and she wanted to be with Daddy on the ride. Since she was upset, we got her out of the fair and went for a walk in the garden...and came upon a playground. She was totally all happy about being there, so we rested there for a bit while she raced around, playing with all the equipment. Ah well, the best thing in life is always free eh? And oh, we got a very pleasant surprise while there, we bumped into some really good friends from MESSAGE and got to spend some time with them too! What a treat.

Right here are the videos. The first one is of her and Daddy on the Merry go Round:

And another one of her playing in the playground
