Funfair Fun

This morning when we got up and looked out of the window, there were spots of sunshine!! Yippee! However, when I looked at the weather forecast, they'd predicted thunderstorm and more rain! Arrggh. Well, we thought, let's trust what we see, but not take a chance. So we all got dressed in a hurry, got into the car and rushed into Paris. We were going to visit the fair at the Tuleries Garden, just in front of the Louvre.
I dressed Bibou up a little bit 'sportive'. She had on her new shoes, they looked like Converse hightops lol. Even though they are a bit big for her feet right now, (she's in between sizes, her 23s are too small), she really likes them. She likes showing them off.
And show off she did, especially to the two Flos whom we visited before going to the fair. We were all hungry and decided to go to our favoirte brunch place right smack in the middle of Paris. It's called cusine and confidence and run by a great couple called Flo and Flo! We'd not see them for a while, and they were fawning over Bibou. She had a lot of fun playing with them too, they totally were into her. They even had this HUGGGE can of Chuppa Chups (lollies on a stick, or lollipop) which we promptly sat her on. She enjoyed that! They also had a big lollipop and she was given that to play around with too (fortunately, she wasn't offered and didn't ask for any!!) And to top off the visit, we had a really scrumplious brunch.
After that wonderful meal and really meeting up with good ole friends, we strolled over to the big park next to the famous Lourve, called the Jardin des Tuleries. For the summer, there is a huge fun fair going on, with all the usual delights such as the ferris wheel, spin arounds, bumper cars, fun houses, 'scary' houses and of course all the little stalls where you can loose all your money trying to win a small toy by shooting the balloons, scooping up the duckies etc. The first thing we got to was a merry go round, and Bibou got all excited! I guess she remembered the great time she had when we went on the merry go round a month or two ago. We got our tickets, Bibou and I and hopped on. It was an old one, and wasn't very smooth. I hung on to Bibou for dear life, thinking that it might fall on us any time soon! But she was oblivious to it all, and was having a ball of a time (she probably thought the noisy, jerky movements were all part of the ride). We had a fun time playing peekaboo with Daddy and the camera, hence the funny faces we had in the picture. Apparently, Daddy said we looked so funny that he almost dropped the camera!
Next, we came to this water ride (very mini one), with fixed boats / other vehicles that went round in a circle. She climbed on board and couldn't stop laughing!! Round and round she went, (in a powerboat with sails observed a very amused Daddy). At first, she was more interested in what was going around her, and looked and every other boats / cars around her, and the other kids... but soon, each time she passed us, she gave a big belly laugh. She even started to give me some high fives. That came to an end, and she wanted to stay on. I managed to get her off by telling her that there were other rides coming!
She was persuaded, and good thing too. 'coz next was this wonderful car 'racing' track which went up and down (still on a track though, so very safe). She really enjoyed that. She was even wriggling in her car with laughter.
Finally, we came to this huge, and I mean huge, like 3-4 stories high slide with lots of 'bumps' that you slide down on a carpet. We didn't think that Bibou would feel comfortable coming down on it so we just stood there to watch. However, when we tried to leave, Bibou didn't want to leave. She wanted to go on it! OK, so Daddy took her up and then put her on his lap to slide down. Well, she didn't utter a peep all the way down, but I think she was bottling it all up! 'coz as soon as she got to the bottom, she burst out into tears! But she was calmed down immediately, once I quickly scooped her up into my arms. We went onto a few more of the less 'frightening' car rides and then off back home to wait for Emily and gang.
