Bibou and her Pal Dan

It is the French Summer period, where hordes of people leave the Parisan area for their vacation. Bibou's ta-ta is no different and she'd gone for the month of July. So Bibou had to be separated from her playmate for the month of July while they each went to separate Nannies. So Dan's parents and we organized an afternoon out so that the kiddies can meet up.
It was a really hot afternoon ... a bit too hot, but nice and sunny. The playground that we met up at had a brillant play area that was nicely shaded. We got there a tad bit late as Bibou decided to take a longer than usual nap that afternoon. So as we walked up to the park, Dan and his parents were there already. The kiddies caught sight of each other immediately and from afar, and it was so funny to see them. They burst into smiles and giggles immediately and ran to each other.. it looked like some scene from a lost lover film or something. They ran to each other's arms and then started to give kisses. Awwwwwwwww.
After all the excitment, they rushed to the play ground together so that they can 'attack' the play structures. They'd claimed on board the see-saws, the 'train' etc. Dan was too excited and couldn't sit still at each item for long. Bibou tried to keep up with Dan for a while but I think she gave up after a while! So she also started doing her own thing. She got onto the 'train' and tickled me pink when she grabbed onto the stering wheel and the 'gear' shift with the other hand and started 'driving' just like one would.
She also amazed Daddy and I by climbing up the 'steps' for the slide. They were not oridinary steps of a ladder kind of steps... they were rock-climbing rock edges! And after a while, she managed to climb up all by herself and go sliding down on her own. Even Dan's Daddy remarked in amazement and how agile she is!
It was also really fun to see both of them holding hands and walking arm in arm with each other. They walked hand in hand, swinging as they went. really cute!
Then it was gouter time - tea time! The kiddies were so hungry they were asking for food. I was jolly pleased though when we brought out an apple and Bibou ate it all by herself. She can crunch into an apple (well, Daddy has to take the first bite first) and eat it now without having it peeled and cut into slices. all the other moms were impressed. of course, when the cakes and biscuits came out, Bibou immediately wanted them too. Sigh. Well, at least she got to eat some apples!
All too soon, we had to leave. They won't be seeing each other for another few weeks as Dan and his parents are going on vacation. But they'll have the last 2 weeks of August together.
