Here Fishy Fishyyy

Well, it was absoluately pouring again today. We had to shelve our plans for visiting the funfair in the centre of Paris today. So we decided to visit the aquarium at the National Museum of African Arts and the Ocean (very loosely translated). It seemed like there were a few groups of school kids who thought that was a good idea too, but most of them were leaving when we got there (whew!!).
The place was really large, with lots of space (for kids to run about!). And everywhere were beautiful acquairums of brightly colored fishes. There were different types and all sorts, sea, fresh water fishes, large, small, beautiful, and uly fishes. There were also turtles sting rays, and crocodiles.
The best part is that, most of the tank displayed had ledges where pint sized kids like Bibou could climb on and watch the fish swim by. I think that was Bibou's favorite part really! She totally enjoyed climbing up and down the ledge. In fact, I think she was more interested in swinging from the bars and running in and about the ledges. She really prefers to be active rather than visiting these colorful fish! Sigh. And she was quite rambunctious in the begining, squirming and wiggling away from our hands, until Daddy had to put her in the corner for some time out. She calmed down (ever so little lol) after that and enjoyed watching the (admitedly boringly) fishy swimining round and round.
think that what we enjoyed most were the very colorful clown fishes (think Nemo), the stingray display, the seahorses, the sharks and my personal favorite was the giraffe catfish.
I think tomorrow, we must find a playground to take Bibou. If it is raining, then we'll have to find an indoor amusement park. She needs to run around and climb climb climb... our little Monkey. Can't blame her, she is born in the year of the monkey.
